Marc Kaplan
Marc Kaplan has worked in the area of quantum information for more than fifteen years. He graduated from from the University Paris-Sud, getting his PhD from the first quantum information research group in France. He then worked at the University of Montreal with Gilles Brassard, the co-inventor of quantum cryptography. He has worked at the Telecom Paristech in France and the University of Edinburgh in the UK.
His research career has focused on the interaction between quantum technologies and cybersecurity. He has designed quantum algorithms to break classical cryptographic systems, but also quantum-resistant alternatives.
He is the founder of VeriQloud, a startup based in Paris, France. VeriQloud develops applications for long-term security and privacy in a quantum world. VeriQloud has produced Qline, a quantum communication hardware that is a gateway to the quantum internet. It allows for the deployment of networks whose security is everlasting: no eavesdropper would ever be able to learn the encrypted data.
VeriQloud's software solution Qasmat ensure the security of data-at-rest by distributing data over several storage server. Before the distribution, the data is split using a secret sharing scheme, a technique that generates secret shares so that a certain number of those are required to learn the original data.
